OLE BOYS

SOCIAL RUGBY

The Toledo Celtics have always been fueled by their history and the players who built the club. While we no longer field a dedicated Old Boys side, the spirit of the veterans is alive and well in our annual Coon & Hound Game — the spring tradition where past players lace up to face the current squad. Held each May at the close of the season, the match is equal parts competition and celebration, a reminder that the game (and the friendships) never really leave you.

Our Old Boys have also carried the Celtic colors far beyond Toledo. Tours to the Cayman Islands, Ft. Lauderdale, and Savannah, GA stand as milestones in the club’s story — trips where rugby, camaraderie, and a bit of mischief came together to strengthen lifelong bonds.

Today, the club is blessed with a surplus of supportive Old Boys who continue to back the team in countless ways — showing up on the sidelines, mentoring new players, or helping drive fundraising and community events. Their dedication, combined with the deep rugby roots in Toledo, has allowed the Celtics to survive and thrive for over 51 years.

The Old Boys are proof that being a Celtic is more than just 80 minutes on the field — it’s a lifelong family.
